Greetings BHR Property Owners,
Recently the BHR Board of Directors had their bi-monthly board meeting. One of the items discussed was the high cost of BHR road maintenance. During that discussion, there were several comments made regarding the roads and how they are affected by driving too fast or breaking too fast. The cost of the road maintenance far exceeds our annual income from dues, so let’s all work together to keep our roads in great shape.
The washboard effect was one of the recurring comments at the Board meeting. Although delivery vehicles (UPS and FedEx), propane deliveries, home building deliveries, contribute to the wash boarding effect, there are some residents who drive faster than posted and desired. Some residents are complaining of nearly being hit, and a few have mentioned being forced off the road by cars driving too fast around blind corners.
One other consideration when driving through the BHR is to be aware of the wildlife and cattle (if you hit a cow or deer, it can cause significant damage to your car and possibly the driver/passengers) and/or you could kill innocent wildlife/cattle.
Please, be careful when traveling through the BHR and please adhere to the 20MPH speed limit. This speed limit will protect our vehicles, our roads and the wildlife we all enjoy.
Cordially, Blackhawk Ranch, Board of Directors
